Jurassic Park Film Location Hike
Red Cliffs Parking Lot
Come with us on a two-mile roundtrip hike to the Jurassic Park filming location when Red Rock Canyon State Park was used as a stand-in for fossil beds in Montana! Leading the hike will be Jon Hammond, a naturalist and fluent speaker of the Nuwa (Kawaiisu or Southern Paiute) Indian language, who will be pointing out native plants and sharing information about the history of the area as we make our way to the filming site. The hike is rated as easy to moderate. Meet at the Visitor Center at 9am for introduction. Visitors will follow by personal vehicle one mile to Red Cliffs trail head for the start of the hike.
