Red Rock Canyon Interpretive Association has been supporting Red Rock Canyon State Park by funding the construction and maintenance of exhibits since 1997. This is a work in progress. We have exhibits on Geology; Fossils and Native American culture among other areas. The exhibit space has areas that are yet to be completed including the rich cultural history of the park. We are working on designs at this time for desertification which will be adjacent to the Pleistocene exhibit.
Media Room
The media room plays videos that were shot on location at Red Rock. There are film posters of a few of the movies that were filmed at the park, including a poster for “Planet of the Apes.” Huell Howser came to Red Rock in June of 2008 and produced a show for his Golden State Park series. This video is for sale at our gift shop. We also play a video featuring Mark Faull that gives an overview of Red Rock as well as a video on the “hundred year flood” that dramatically changed the face of Red Rock with a torrential flash flood that hit the park in 1997.
Gift Shop
RRCIA operates the gift shop as a means to support the interpretive and educational activities at Red Rock Canyon State Park. All profits that are from the gift shop go back to helping the park. We carry apparel, books, and educational gift items related to astronomy; wildlife; geology and other areas related to Red Rock. Remember, RRCIA members receive a 15 percent discount on all purchases. Come to Red Rock and enjoy the peace and solitude that harkens back to a slower pace of life.
Stop by our Visitor Center and Look at the exhibits; Purchase a gift; Watch a video and Sign our Guest Book! We look forward to seeing you.
